Maersk is introducing changes to Oceania shipping network

Maersk is pleased to announce that starting from October, subject to obtaining all relevant regulatory approvals, we will be introducing changes to our Oceania shipping network with the launch of two new services,  Komodo and Cobra, complemented by an existing service, to be renamed Dragon, all together replacing the existing Boomerang service.

This new set up enhances our connections with Europe, Middle East and India Subcontinent, adding direct calls to Port Klang and Jakarta as well as providing competitive transit times from Brisbane and Sydney to our main South-East Asia destinations.

Following is an outline of the new services:


The new service will start from Yokohama (Japan) on October 23,2019, linking North East Asia with east coast of Australia.

Rotation: Yokohama – Osaka – Busan – Qingdao – Shanghai – Ningbo – Brisbane – Sydney – Melbourne – Brisbane

The new service is maintaining our competitive edge from North East Asia to/from Australia with weekly departure in 7 x 5,500 TEU vessels.



The new service will start from Tanjung Pelepas (Malaysia) on October 25, 2019, connecting between South East Asia to Australia on clock-wise rotation, with new direct calls for Port Klang and Jakarta

Rotation: Tanjung Pelepas – Port Klang – Singapore – Brisbane – Sydney – Melbourne – Adelaide – Fremantle – Jakarta

The new service is improving our coverage from South East Asia to/from Australia, with below product highlights:New direct calls added in Port Klang and Jakarta, which are important transshipment hubs with high growth potential, will help boost your business in South East Asia and India Subcontinent.
7 days faster transit times from Tanjung Pelepas to Brisbane, 9 days faster transit times from Singapore to Brisbane.
8 days faster transit times from Port Klang to Sydney, 5 days faster transit times from Port Klang to Brisbane.
Minimum 7 days improvement in transit from Australia to Jakarta and Port Klang.
Weekly departure with 6 x 5,700 TEU vessels.

KOMODO-The-new-service-will-start-from-Tanjung =-Pelepas


The new service will start from Laem Chabang (Thailand) on October 23,2019, connecting between South East Asia to Australia on counter-clockwise rotation, with new direct call for Port Klang.

Rotation: Laem Chabang – Tanjung Pelepas – Singapore – Port Klang – Fremantle – Adelaide – Melbourne – Sydney – Brisbane – Singapore – Port Klang – Tanjung Pelepas

The new service is enhancing our strength from South East Asia to/from Australia, with below product highlights:Maintaining our presence with Thailand, but also enhancing coverage from Port Klang.
The new connection from Sydney /Brisbane straight up to Singapore is excellent for Maersk and can tap into the transit sensitive cargo loading here.
New direct calls added in Port Klang
Minimum 7 days improvement in transit from Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne to South East Asia
10 days faster transit from Port Klang to Fremantle, Adelaide and Melbourne
Weekly departure with 7 x 8,500 TEU vessels.
